A Study on Preferences of Nail Pedi Art of Materials

Abstract
This study conducted a questionnaire survey against female customers to nail and pedicure salons in Seoul and Gyeonggi for the purpose of analyzing their preference, and advantage and disadvantage of nail and pedicure materials. The study results found the followings: When analyzed by demographic statistics, the number of respondents in their 20s was relatively high in terms of age. In terms of occupation, student, professional job and service job were mostly observed. When asked what nail care material is mostly used when they visit the salon, UV gel was most responded. In terms of the advantage of nail and pedicure materials, polish was preferred because of a short treatment time while artificial nail and acryl were loved thanks to long maintenance. In addition, UV gel was responded because of good maintenance and glossiness, and silk was chosen based on the protection of fingernails and toenails. In terms of the disadvantage of these materials, in contrast, UV gel(because of severe nail damage, 58.2%) was most responded, followed by polish(short maintenance period, 50%), acryl(chemical smell, 37.4%), artificial nail(uncomfortable wear, 33.3%) and silk(chemical smell, 27%).
